Michael Baxter

Editor, Information Age

Michael Baxter is a technology and economics writer. He is the editor of Information Age and the author/co-author of three books. The last book he co-authored, iDisrupted, was published in 2014 and looked at disruptive technology and how business, the economy and even what it is to be human is being transformed by technology. He looked at bitcoin in the book, where he argued that the biggest threat to the economy in an era of accelerating technology will be lack of consumer demand. The solution might be multiple helicopter money drops, but that if bitcoin becomes a global currency, central banks will no longer have the power to boost the economy by creating money. Information Age covers blockchain extensively, especially with respect to its B2B applications. Michael is currently working on another book about how technology will change us: working title uDistributed.
